Emerging Artist Jeremy Riel

A fine art oil painter with a strong interest and focus on landscapes.

My first experience with oil painting was when I was 13 years old. I really loved experimenting with them and did so for about year. In the back of my mind, I always knew I’d be back. Well after a long hiatus, hundreds of miles trekked through the forests and with a different point of view; I've come back to oil painting with a renewed enthusiasm and zest to recreate all that my eyes have seen. Spending all those years outdoors was fuel for the fire!

Recently I had the joy of being awarded 1st Place at the Lake Placid Center for Arts (LPCA) 2025 Winter Exhibition, with all 4 of my submissions being accepted into the show. Additionally, in 2024 I had multiple pieces selected for Juried Art Exhibitions at both the Lake Placid Center for Arts and Adirondack Artists Guild.

When I am not painting, I can be found hiking in the wilderness of the Adirondacks or enjoying the beautiful shores of Maine with my wife. Anything outdoors.
